Hey y'all
Today I'ma post a bunch of love songs. I love love songs. Sad ones, happy ones, big ones, small ones. I love 'em. Okay seriously though, would there ever have been a mixtape if not for the angst, the turmoil, the ecstasy, and satisfaction, the howl of love?
Jonah, Pat, and I cooked dinner for our lovely girlfriends on Friday night. We chopped up some veggies and meats, skewered them and had some kabobs. We also uncorked a few bottles of White Wine (see: Trius Unoaked Chardonnay, apparently really good), and hung out. Probably my favourite part of the night was when we told the stories of our first dates. Funny how the boys and the girls had different versions of those stories.
Let's listen to some music shall we. Kim I love ya!
Stars - What I'm Trying to Say
"we are collapsed in the act of just being here"
Martha Wainwright - Comin' Tonight: Wait for this song to pick up, then think about that feeling you get when you're headed into to meet your lovers parents and friends for the first time. This song gives me the feeling of landing in Thunderbay feeling excited and awkward. Also Martha Wainwright sigs weird weirdly.
'03 Bonnie & Clyde - Jay-Z ft. Beyonce: Last night I had an awesome time hanging out with my girl. We talked about how much she loves rap and Jay-Z and Kanye, and I put this song on before we did research on Kanye West and how long he's been producing in the game. She's the best!
A Case of You - Joni Mitchell: "Just before our love got lost you said I am as constant as a northern star And I said, constantly in the darkness Where's that at? If you want me I'll be in the bar On the back of a carton coaster In the blue TV screen light I drew a map of Canada Oh Canada With your face sketched on it twice Oh you're in my blood like holy wine You taste so bitter and so sweet Oh I could drink a case of you darling And I would still be on my feet Oh I would still be on my feet" This is my favourite verse of lyrics period. I love when people mention Canada. I love Joni's depth of imagery.
May roses and peace be with ya,
Rob
