Far and Away.

Hiii.

Started thinking about the ole Mixtaperoo this morning and realized a point of convergence for both music and life events over the past week:  the UK. Off we go laddies!...

Spent a bit of time at Shake's this past week. The start of patio season is glorious. Not only are British pub fare and beer both essential to culture of the Isles, we also spent a ridiculous amount of time talking about movies, where a few things were discovered:

a) Benoit has a giant man-crush on Brad Pitt. Like I'm talking LARGE.
b) Tommy can recite a shocking number of lines from any movie, specifically The Rock, Snatch and Almost Famous.
c) I hate Brad Pitt. I don't think he's attractive and his voice is monotone. He's okay in Snatch. And a River Runs Through it... but the whole adopting babies from around the world thing is getting played out.
d) If ever hanging out with the 5th year guys, Top Gun WILL be referenced repeatedly.
e) Sometimes Kim can be sillydrunk after 1 pint. This is awesome.
f) Cody knows alot about Belle and Sebastian...

Sad but pretty, hey? It's from Boy A, which is now top-of-the-chain on the movie watching list.

Next song is from Frightened Rabbit. They're from Scotland and this album is awesome. It's good for walking home at the end of the day (sorry that the video is tres boring).

The next one's a double whammy. The band is from Oxford (HI ADAM!!) but they take their name from a little place in Scotland. I've been playing this one on repeat lately aaand they're in Toronto at the end of May. At the El Mocambo! Or should I say, El great combo. A HA HA HA yeah I went for the lame joke....

Okay last one's from Mr. DMcD, a.k.a my Dad. Galway is in Ireland. He loves Steve Earle, this song fits with the whole UK thing, one time I heard it in a bar in Ottawa and people lost it around 1:30 a.m (beer may have been a factor) and it's a happy little jam.

Okay bye.
