Rob J back again. Just want to say thanks to everyone who came out/helped out/passed out on Saturday night. It was very Fun. With a capital fucking F. The stage, the kegs, the video, the music, the crowd. I know Tommy, Steve, and I were all nervous. We wanted it to go well, and thanks to you it did! Wahoo.
The question we face now is "what's next?" We are thinking of recording a mixtape available for free download. Luckily we've been extended some helping hands by both Shine Hard of "I'm a Gryphon" and Chris Mazur. Most likely we'll try and record but T "prime dolla" Money is leaving us and the future for Collektive Thought is still uncertain. We'll have to sit down over some tea and honey and decide what we want.
Over all I'd say I am hugely surprised by how much I enjoyed this bout of creativity. I used to write and record country songs in high school and it was exhilarating to be invested in something new. The same feeling came back writing and recording with Steve and Tommy. Over the past few months I've learned a lot about these dudes, about music, and about writing and it has been a fucking blast.
Now for some tunes. This first one is by the Dexys Midnight Runners. I don't know anything about this band except that if I could have a live backing band to rap in front of...it would be these guys!
Peace and love!
