Hey y'all,
Rob J back again! After a brief Hiatus due to the plague and OUA's The Mixtape is coming back with a fuckin' bang. Before we get down to the nitty gritty here's a list of stuff you should know about me:
Anybody who knows me knows I like to have fun...(that's a euphemism - I like to drink and party).
Anybody who knows me knows I don't take time to do that too often.
When I do I like to listen to really good tunes.
My lovely group of friends doesn't always share the same taste in said really good tunes (I'm sorry Furtado for changing Party in the U.S.A. to The Band at Rubix Cube party that one time...)
Okay. Now we can get started. On Saturday night I had fun (re: euphemism) playing Cranium and Things with a lovely lady and her roommates. It was a really fun night. Ben and I got a special St. Patricks-day-marketing-scheme 8 pack of Irish beers. Kilkenny, Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick's. We had a lot of fun. We also listened to some awesome tunes. Mainly this collection of 1960's underground garage rock called Nuggets. Here's a link to the torrent. Download that shit.
My favourite songs from that are probably Farmer John by the Premiers and this tune Public Execution by Mouse and the Traps. It is a total rip off of Like a Rolling Stone but it's more bad ass. Picture yourself next to a lava lamp and a Go Go Girl with a Heineken dancing up a storm.
The next song is a choice because of a little tradition called 60 Beer night. This tradition involves 2x24 + 12 of McClay's. Five Mutual, and my best buddy Mark. It also involves a copy of rumours and boot stomping. I know it might seem lame but give it a chance. Lindsay Buckingham could party like a fucking maniac.
Next song is a little more contemporary. Get your grind on.
Finally, I'm going to shamelessly promote myself. Check out some new Collektive Thought Tracks!
Keep it Phresh Y'all.
