Fever Dreams

Hey y'all

I've taken a hit of the plague this week and I have been incapacitated.  I have returned, tail between my legs, to my parents house, consumed essentially nothing but soup, tea, and orage juice (excluding the one meal I got from Bombay Cafe.  In case you're wondering curry is not good when you've got a large fever). I have been watching a lot of Parks and Recreation:

I have also been spending an obscene amount of time surfin' the net.  I've found some cool tunes:

This one courtesy of a cool dude I went to school with for a long time:

New Radiohead - Dear T. Yorke, keep reppin the skinny white dudes.

I remember seeing Kid Koala at the Guelph Jazz Fest this year.  It was the first year the GJF had done a Nuit Blance thing.  Since I made a stab at presenting at the subsequent research colloquium I had a free pass to the entire weekend.  Not wanting to miss anything I bought a bottle of Bailey's for Kim and I and we spent close to 24 hours soaking in jazz while sipping Bailey's and Coffee/Tea from travel mugs. I'm pretty sure that sums Guelph up to me!  Anyways, it's 1:30 in the morning when Kid Koala's show starts (I was volunteering at 10 and was up early).  Kim and I are sitting with my manager, her partner, and another dude.  We're all too tired to be standing, so we sit at the back of the venue.  The Bailey's is gone and I'm really fading.  Kid Koala kills the show.  Fortunately, there is a youtube video of the exact performance on youtube (pardon the sound quality, but not the insane scratching skills, those are real turntables!).

Finally, here's a tune I've been fucking around with for the last couple days.  It's a sample of the "Cherokee Morning Song" from Robbie Robertson and the Red Road Ensemble's Music For Native American's Album which was inspired by Robertson's Mohawk heritage.  The vocals are insanely beautiful. Haunting...and I debase them in garage band.

Enjoy these side effects of my fever dreams friends!
